Sam

Test Prep, Math, Science and Spanish Tutor

Sam graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with degrees in  Chemistry and Hispanic Studies. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and  Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society. He has taught and  tutored math, chemistry, biology,  Spanish, and ACT/SAT test prep for over six years. Instead of making  students memorize formulas and plug-and-chug to get out answers, he  encourages them to understand the principles behind each problem. His  favorite teaching moment is helping students create  their own examples and analogies to achieve that "eureka" moment when  everything clicks. Currently Sam is conducting analytical chemistry  research at UNC Chapel Hill, interpreting at a healthcare clinic for  Spanish-speaking patients, freelance writing about  Spanish and second language acquisition, and studying German, Italian,  and Python in his free time.
